What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded support that helps individuals with disabilities live as independently as possible while receiving assistance with daily activities, personal care, and household tasks.

Support to stay connected to family, friends, and community
Our 1:1 approach to SIL
Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services are delivered through a 1:1 support model, ensuring personalised care, consistent support, and dedicated attention tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Your support worker is there for you, not multiple people at once
Less rushing and fewer competing needs
A stronger sense of safety and trust, because you are not being “fit in” around others
How we help you find the right SIL home
We help you find the right supported independent living home based on your needs, preferences, and NDIS plan, and can work alongside your support coordinator to make the process easier and more structured.
01
We learn what “home” means to you
Your routines, preferences, sensory needs, communication style, and what helps you feel safe.
02
We look at location and lifestyle fit
Proximity to community, family, transport, work, study, and the places that matter to you.
03
We explore housing options with you
This includes suitable pathways depending on what is available and appropriate.
04
We plan support alongside the home
Your home and your support model should make sense together, including 1:1 staffing and how that works across the week.
05
We support a slow and respectful transition
When possible, this includes meet-and-greets, visits, and a transition plan that reduces disruption.
FAQs
What is the difference between SIL and SDA?
SIL is the support. It is the staff and help you receive at home. SDA is the housing. It relates to the physical home design for people with high support needs. You can have SIL in many types of housing, including SDA, depending on your situation.
Do you offer shared support ratios in SIL?
No. We only provide 1:1 support in SIL. This means staff support is not split across multiple residents at the same time.
What funding do I need for SIL?
SIL is usually funded under the NDIS when it is considered reasonable and necessary. Decisions sit with the NDIS, often supported by evidence. We can help you understand what information is usually needed, without making promises about outcomes.
How do you create my support plan?
We build it with you. This includes your goals, routines, communication needs, risks and safeguards, and what good support looks like to you.
What if I do not feel comfortable in the home?
Feeling safe matters. If something is not working, we take it seriously and work with you to address concerns and plan next steps.
